October is Breast Cancer Awareness month.
Since 1985, October has been designated as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It’s a time to honor breast cancer patients, survivors and caregivers, and to educate the public on how to prevent and detect the disease. Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among American women, according to the nonprofit BreastCancer.org, with about 1 in 8 women developing breast cancer over the course of her lifetime.
